Abstract

The community has waited a long time and hopes for the government to implement good governance, namely effective, efficient, accountable, and responsible governance. However, until now, there has not been a comprehensive and systematic strategy in realizing good governance, which is likely due to the broad scope of good governance dimensions and the lack of priority scale due to population diversity and the unavailability of adequate information. So for the initial step, researchers suggest that improving the implementation of public services is the first step in bureaucratic development reform.

Abstract

Fatty hydroxamic acids (FHAs) have been successfully synthesized from coconut oil by a one-step lipase catalyzed reaction. FHAs are the acids that are based on fatty acids. Their hydrophobicity can be use for some applications such as surfactant and metal ions extraction from aqueous media. This paper describes enzymatic synthesis of FHAs from coconut oil by reacting hydroxylamine with the substrate catalyzed by a lipase. The lipase used was Lipozyme, a commercially lipase of Mucor meihe fixed on a polymer anion exchange resin. The use of immobilized lipase as the catalyst for the preparation reaction provides an easy isolation of the enzyme from the products and other components in the reaction mixture. In addition, it also allows the reaction to be carried out under mild conditions, which reduces the reaction’s side products. The optimum preparation conditions obtained were as follows; the reaction temperature was 30oC, the reaction time was 30 h, the ratio of coconut oil: lipozyme (g:g) was 29.5, and the ratio of hydroxylamine: coconut oil (mmol:mmol) was 6. The solvent used was hexane. The purified products were characterized by qualitative test, such as FTIR spectroscopy and HPLC.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are designed as the successor of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as the MDGs’ goals have not been achieved by the end of 2015. The SDGs is an action plan for the humankind, the planet, and the prosperity that also aims to strengthen universal peace in a broad freedom. It exists to overcome extreme poverty as the greatest global challenge. The SDGs concept is needed as a new development framework that accommodates all the changes occur after the 2015-MDGs, especially related to the world's changes since 2000 regarding the issue of deflation of natural resources, environmental degradation, crucial climate change, social protection, food and energy security, and a more pro-poor development. MDGs aimed only for the developing countries, while SDGs have a more universal goal. The SDGs is present to replace the MDGs with better goals to face the world future challenge. It has 17 goals and 169 targets that will stimulate actions for the next 15 years, focusing on the significant areas for the humanity and the planet, i.e., the people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership.

Abstract

The development of technology and its utilization cannot be denied that it is closely related to increasing the competitiveness of a country's industry. Increased knowledge and mastery of new technology is needed to win the competition in the era of global trade both by the government and industry. One example of technology that is being discussed hot is nanotechnology. The use of nano technology is well known, including in the fields of health, cosmetics and agriculture. Basically, the principle of nanotechnology discovery is to maximize yield or crop production by minimizing the use of fertilizers, pesticides and other needs by monitoring soil conditions such as roots and applying them directly to the target so that nothing is wasted. For pesticides, if this is applied it will be able to minimize the use of pesticides on plants because only target insects are affected. The use of nano technology in fertilizers will allow the release of nutrients contained in the fertilizer can be controlled. So only nutrients that will actually be absorbed by plants are released, so that there is no loss of nutrients there are undesirable targets such as soil, water and microorganisms. In nano fertilizers, nutrients can be in the form of nanomaterial encapsulation, coating by a thin protective layer or released in the form of an emulsion from nanoparticles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the educational game of balanced nutrition ladder snakes on changes in knowledge and attitudes and actions in elementary school children in Muhammadyah school, Tanjung Morawa district. This type of research is a Quasi-Experimental study (quasi-experimental design) with the design of One Group Pretest- Posttest. The sample in this study was 75 elementary school children Muhammadiyah Kec. Tanjung Morawa. Data was collected using a questionnaire that was filled in by the respondent himself. If the data is normally distributed then the type of test used is the dependent T-test (in pairs). If the data is not normally distributed then the test used is the ranking test. The statistical test results obtained p-value = 0,000 < 0.05, which shows that the influence of snake ladder education game balanced nutrition to changes in knowledge and attitudes in school children. The conclusion in this study is the influence of the educational game of balanced nutrition ladder snakes on changes in knowledge and attitudes in school children.

Abstract

The social movements that were present during the Arab Spring have caused political upheaval in Middle Eastern countries. Starting from Tunisia, the revolution spread to neighboring countries namely Egypt, Libya, and Syria. Present in the midst of a prominent Islamic religion and culture, the aim of the revolution is to bring democracy into the government systems of countries that have long been in an autocracy system, but so far democracy with Islam has often been considered incompatible with each other, especially in countries with values deep-rooted Islamic values. This article focuses on the use of Islamic values in the global civil society movement that takes place in the Arab Spring. Reviewing the revolution in a macro, the main argument of the author is that the Arab Spring became a phase which brought Islam a certain degree of flexibility towards democracy and brought democracy to the Arab world. This article generates the conclusion that the trigger for the revolution was not due to religious matters, the demonstrators who joined were not one hundred percent Muslim, and the issue demanded was not related to the religious life of the people, but that Islam, whether its values or religious practices, could not be separated in organizing the masses during the revolution.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of training in improving employee performance and internal staffing relationships in improving employee performance and how the relationship of training and internal staffing in improving employee performance. The research method used is a verification method of research with multiple linear regression models, processing data using multiple correlation analysis and using the F test and t test. The total population taken was 58 permanent employees and a random sample of 50 respondents and the data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. From the calculation of the multiple correlation coefficient between training and employee performance resulted in a positive number of 0.98 which means that employee performance is greatly influenced by training. This shows the relationship of training with employee performance is very strong. These results are supported by significant test results t (t arithmetic = 1.36> = 1.30). This means that training makes a meaningful contribution; while internal staffing (tcount = 0.009 <ttable = 1.30) showed less significant relationship in improving employee work performance, even though it had a correlation coefficient (ry2 = 0.98). Training and internal staffing on employee performance have a very strong relationship as evidenced by a variance of 96.52%. and the remaining 3.48% is caused by other factors.

Abstract

Nutrition is an important part on the implementation of cancer, both in patients who are undergoing therapy, restoration of the therapy, in a State of remission or to prevent a recurrence. Nutritional status in cancer patients is known to correlate with response therapy, prognosis and quality of life. More or less 30-87% of cancer patients experiencing malnutrition before undergoing therapy. The incidence of malnutrition vary depending on the origin of cancer, for example in patients with pancreatic cancer and gaster are experiencing malnutrition to 85%, 66% in lung cancer, and 35% in breast cancer. One of the problems of nutrients that need attention in cancer patients is the kaheksia. The malnutrition common in advance because the nutrition component of the intake not as recommended.
